Built in 2009, Frank Gehry's striking example of contemporary architecture appears to twist and melt, with its elaborate arrangement of stainless steel curves and glass that defines the Las Vegas skyline. The structure is conceptually divided into two distinct parts: a solid, regular medical and research clinic, and a dramatically undulating, event-hosting pavilion, symbolising the journey from rational science to the unpredictable nature of the brain.
