The Gherkin

30 St Mary Axe, commonly known as the Gherkin, is a 41-storey skyscraper in London’s financial district designed by Norman Foster and completed in 2004. Its curved, tapering form reduces wind resistance and improves energy efficiency, making it one of the best-known examples of contemporary architecture in Britain.
