A white water lily sits
among a dense spread of lily pads, their muted greens and browns
covering the surface of the still water. The scattered light and
soft reflections in the water give the scene a slightly
impressionistic quality, faintly reminiscent of Monet’s later garden
paintings. Some of the leaves show signs of wear, adding texture to
the otherwise calm composition.
