Dill Pickles Sheet Music
Lithography, 35 cm, by Frew, 1910
The New York Public Library, New York CIty

'Dill Pickles' was one of the best-known American ragtime-era novelty pieces. Although it is often associated with ragtime, it is generally classified as a cakewalk or two-step, featuring syncopated rhythms that made it popular for dancing in the early twentieth century. The original music was composed by Charles L. Johnson in 1906, with lyrics added in 1910 by Alfred Bryan for the vocal version.
