Pipe organ, Innsbruck Cathedral

The organ at the Cathedral of St James retains a Baroque organ case completed in 1721 during the post-Gothic rebuilding of the church, with the gallery instrument undergoing several rebuilds through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries before its modern transformation. The present organ was constructed by Rieger Orgelbau between 2000 and 2003, with four manuals and about 75 stops housed within the historic case, continuing a long service tradition in the cathedral’s west gallery.
