Formed over roughly 300,000 years in Nanjo in the southern part of Okinawa Island, Japan, Gyokusendo Cave is a vast limestone cavern with more than one million stalactites and underground pools illuminated in vivid blue. About 890 metres of its 5 km cave system are open to visitors through Okinawa World, leading along walkways that wind through a series of enormous subterranean chambers.
