Liliana Crociati de Szaszak (1944–1970) was a young Argentinian woman whose life tragically ended at 26 during her honeymoon on the 26th of February 1970. An avalanche in Innsbruck, Austria, claimed her, leaving behind grieving parents who commissioned a unique Neo-Gothic tomb in Buenos Aires' La Recoleta Cemetery. Standing out from the surrounding mausoleums, the tomb features a life-size bronze statue of Liliana in her wedding dress, beside her faithful dog, Sabú, which was added after he died. The stark realism of the statue, created by sculptor Wíeredovol Viladrich, reflects the sudden heartbreak of Liliana's demise, making it a popular yet poignant destination in the cemetery.
