From 32,000 miles (52,000 kilometres) above Jupiter, NASA’s Juno spacecraft captured a remarkable view of the planet’s southern pole. The swirling oval formations visible in the scene are immense cyclones, each measuring up to 600 miles (1,000 kilometres) across. To produce this composite, JunoCam collected images during three separate passes, which were later combined to show the entire region in daylight with enhanced colour detail and a stereographic projection.
