The miniature of Tsar Nicholas II was given by him to his wife, Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna. A year following the birth of their daughter, Grand Duchess Olga, the Tsarina gave the miniature of her to the Tsar. The portraits were painted by Johannes Zehngraf.
