Son of Mubarak Al-Sabah, Sheikh of Kuwait, and Shafiqa N. He was married firstly to Hayat Al-Naqib (divorced, she married secondly, Khalid Al-Ghunaim); secondly, to Umm Nawal; thirdly to Soad Al-Sabah in 1960. He had issue.
