Filippo quarrelled with the duc de Créquy which resulted in a duel where he lost and he apparently begged for his life, bringing him dishonour. He therefore challenged the duc to a second duel. The duc accepted and Filippo lost again and was killed.

Illegitimate son of Emmanuel-Philibert de Savoie and a daughter of Martino Doria.
