Raised at Racconigi, Giovannino entered the seminary of Giaveno in 1718, and in 1725, he became a cleric. In 1728, he joined the military, but continued his ecclesiastical career. He is believed to have died in 1742 because the pension he received from Piedmont ceased.

Illegitimate son of Vittorio Amedeo I di Savoia and Felicita Parà di Marignan (†1742).
