Brother of the previous duke, Henri was destined for an ecclesiastical
career, but after the death of his elder brothers, Louis and Charles-Amédée,
he abandoned that path to become the next duke of Nemours, and then married
Marie d'Orléans. Henri suffered from epilepsy, and lived his life
in pain, dying childless. This prince was learned, gentle and devout,
and according to his will, his heart was placed in the Saint-Louis des
Jésuites church, Paris, and his body transported to Annecy.
