Principe di Piemonte
In 1527 Louis was betrothed to Marguerite de France, daughter of King
Francis I, but the king was displeased after Louis' father promised Emperor
Charles V to send him to the Spanish court. The subsequent war of 1536
meant that the marriage would not take place, and Louis died that year.
