Louise-Philiberte de Savoie-Soissons
(1667–1726)
Other names: Mademoiselle de Carignano
Biographical
Louise-Philiberte resided
at the Hôtel de Soissons, Paris, and in 1698, due to the scandalous
life she lived, the court of Savoy pleaded with Louis XIV to take action
to protect the reputation of the family. The king had her taken from her
palace and locked away at the convent of Figlie di Santa Maria delle Visitazioni.
She asked to be sent to reside with her mother at Brussels, but this was
denied. She was sent to Aosta in the following year, and in 1719, she
was at the convent of the Visitation at Turin where she lived her final
days, lamenting the treatment she received from the duke of Savoy.
Place of death: Monastero
della Visitazione, Turin
Daughter of Eugène-Maurice de Savoie-Carignano and Olimpia Mancini.
