Principessa Maria Vittoria di Savoia
(1688–1763)

Biographical

Maria Vittoria fell in love with Giuseppe Malabaila, a squire who was considered beneath her, however she was determined to marry him. Despite disapproval, the marriage was allowed, although not publicised. The union proved to be very happy and Maria Vittoria resided at Fossano. The education of her children was funded by Carlo Emanuele III.

Daughter of Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia and Angelica d'Este. She married (in secret) to Giuseppe Malabaila, Signore di Cercenasco (†1735).
