Vittorio Francesco was legitimised in 1701 and confirmed as a prince of
the blood. In 1734, he was fighting in the war against the imperialists
and was wounded in battle at Parma. He took part in the War of the Austrian
Succession and defended Nice against the French, but was captured and
imprisoned in 1744. The rest of his life was uneventful, but he was a
man of loose morals, and because of increasing scandals, the king had
him retire from Turin to Centallo. In his old age, he married against
the court's wishes. He died childless, with his nephew, Luigi Vittorio,
Prince of Carignano, being his heir.
Illegitimate son of King Vittorio Amedeo II of Sardinia and Jeanne-Baptiste
d'Albert de Luynes. He married in 1760 to Maria Lucrezia Franchi (†1777)
