Amédée studied at Orléans in1341, Bologna in 1344, and Padua in
1347 before embarking on an ecclesiastical career. In 1349 Amédée Vi of
Savoy appointed him one of the counsellors for justice. His brother, Jacques,
bequeathed to him the castle of Cumiana in 1367, which he sold in 1370.
Son of Philippe I de Savoie and Catherine de La Tour du Pin. He had illegitimate
issue.
