| Andrea
de Malta
Count of Malta (–c. 1300) Biographical Count of Malta c. 1285–92 dep, tit. 1292–c. 1300† Charles of Anjou confirmed Andrea as Count of Malta (along with rights to other property) and granted the right of his heirs in perpetuity in 1290. Andrea then switched his allegiance to King Jaime of Aragon, who confirmed his claim to Malta in 1292. Charles of Anjou retaliated by depriving him of his rights and conferring them on Ruggiero de Lauria. This began a century of simultaneous appointments to the county of Malta by Aragon and Anjou.
