David MacKewan Barton
(1911–89) Biographical Commander of the Order of the British Empire 1966 (UK) 1939–45 War Medal Defence Medal Lieutenant-Colonel Of West Cove House, Castecove, Kerry, and London, Barton attended Trinity College, Cambridge, from 1922 to 1932. He served in the Second World War from 1940 to 1945, joining the Tientsin Irish Guards. He afterwards became active in commerce, trading and banking, holding several senior posts on an international scale, in particular as chairman and managing director of Jardine Matheson & Co. Ltd., Shanghai, from 1955 to 1963.
