He followed the footsteps of his uncle Giacomo, studying law, and choosing
an ecclesiastical career. He became a member of the jurists collegiate
in Milan around 1535, although it seems that he never resided there. He
participated in the Council of Trent in 1545, after which he was rewarded
by the Pope who appointed him referendario della Segnatura apostolica.
Little is known about him from the 1550s to 1560. He distinguished himself
again at the Council of Trent in 1561. After his death, he was impersonated
by a conman who accumulated a fortune before being arrested in Bologna.
