He became a member of the college of noble jurisconsults in 1554.
In 1558 he was sent to France as part of a legate soon after peace was
restored, and then with another legate to Pope Pius IV after his ascension.
He established a botanical garden in Milan. In 1579 he was made a citizen
of Parma.

Son of Alessandro Simonetta and Antonia Castiglioni. Husband of Margherita
