Cutchet y Font (1815-92) Biographical A renown historian, journalist, and politician, Cutchet was a man of courage and determination, and an important figure and supporter of the Catalan nationalist movement. He was a close friend of Victor Balaguer, and both were members of the progressive party. Cutchet was editor of the newspaper La Corona de Aragón. An authority on economics and history, he became president of the Jocs Florals de Barcelona literary consortium in 1876.
