Double portrait of
Constantijn Huygens and Suzanna van Baerle Oil on canvas, 95 x 78.5 cm, by Jacob van Campen, c. 1635 Mauritshuis, The Hague |

| Rather than painting two separate, individual portraits for a marriage portrait, which was customary at the time, Van Campen executed a double portrait for the Huygens, who married in 1627. The couple holds a sheet of music as a symbol of their harmonious union. Van Campen, also an architect, was a friend of Huygens and helped design a house for him. |
