| Hérisset, a French engraver, etcher, and publisher, was active around the 1740s. His work mainly centred on architecture, monuments, costumes, mythological subjects, and ornamental scenes. His engravings frequently featured decorative elements that aligned with the Rococo style of the time. He contributed illustrations to several publications, including Monicart’s Versailles immortalise of 1720 and Boffrand’s Livre d’architecture of 1745. Although there is limited detailed information about his life and his reputation as an engraver remains modest, his influence can be seen in the work of his son, Louis-Antoine, who also became an engraver. Hérisset died in Paris. | ||||||||||
