Leaf intended for the genealogical tree of Magog, the border
depicts eleven giants or fabulous personages in various attitudes.
From the unfinished manuscript Add MS 12531, Genealogical
Tree of the Royal House of Portugal, designed to show the descent
and alliances of the Royal Houses of Spain and Portugal, from the
earliest period to the beginning of the 16th century, executed for
the Infante Don Fernando. Drawn on thirteen leaves of parchment
by Antonio
de Holanda, and illuminated by Simon
Bening (ff. 2, 4,
5, 5*, 10) and Antonio de Holanda (ff. 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9*). F.
